Default Cd player Problems

I know I should be complaining about much worse things with my car.. i.e. that my h-pipe rusted through and I shouldnt be driving with an exhaust leak. But with my cd player it's almost as if it resets everytime the car is shut off. It needs to be turned back on every time, and it looses its settings if any. Battery is brand new so its not that, but I have doubts that my terminal wires are non corroded. Any suggestions of what it might be?

There are 2 power wires, the red to a constant power(keeps the memory) and usually a yellow that goes to a key on source. Check your wiring.

Truth. Sounds like you got your wires switched.

I popped it open and I THINK I saw the yellow and red wires.. They werent really in the position to be inplugged which makes me think im not seeing the right wires.. but whoever did audio wiring on my car before I had it really did a horrible job. There are wires all over the place most of them not connected to anything.. Anyways.. It can hold the memory for about 5 minutes but then after that it just resets again.. Im not sure what to do, but im thinking of just taking it somewhere and having them clean up the mess I have back there. Any other suggestions? Thanks
