Default Remote Starters

So I just got my stang, and I wana put a remote start on it. Not the piggy back, the normall 1000ft or w/e starter (it's a manual). What's a good starter for cheap, price being the main consideration?

in NY manual remote starts are illegal, no shop will install it for you. Reason is for safely.

Picture this. People put thier car into gear to park, as a backup so it doesnt roll, from the Hand brake. Now you leave your car like that, and you go to autostart it. But just think your in gear your car starts... One your going to Mess up your clutch, two car will/can jump like a stall. and just think of all the other bad little things that can happen.

I have a remote start in my dailey driver and love it. I got the audio vox/prestige 996 alarm w remote start. Works great and real far of a distance too. I got this one because it was $100 cheaper then the viper.

If you got the money i recommend something with a 2 way remote so it tells you if it started or not. This way you dont have to look out your wind to male sure the lights came on and running. Their not cheap though.

Mybuudy in NY knows a shop and got it done for me for $350. Would of been $300 but i have the chip in the key so it need a modual for the spare. I dont know of any alarm that has the modual built in. Its usually seperate. Also i never heard of a nuetral saftey detector that is built into a alarm either. But if your good a fabricating you can make a switch block for the shifter. Basically something how a after market shifter with stops works. If the shifter is in 1st, 3rd, or 5th the it would puch against a mico switch on one side and if the shifter was in 2nd, 4th, 6th, or rev then it you push against the other micro switch. And when the switch is made it opens the contacts beween the started circuit like the clutch does. and also would have to disable the clutch swith too.

i know.....long......

If you have a manual, they install a clutch bypass system. It is illigal everywhere, but I know that you can have them installed if the price is right.

a clutch bypass system...alls that is either adjusting the clutch switch so that the contacts are made all the time or switch is removed and wires are just connected together. not much of a system. anyone could basically do that.
