Default potentially massive problem with an '03's CD Player

Hey everyone. I've got a rather major problem with my 6 Disc CD changer that came with the car. It's not an external brand, it is a Ford product i think. Anyway, it worked great for a while. Now, even though i have 3 Discs in it at the moment, it doesn't read that the 3rd disc even exists. Even worse, I can't listen to any of my other cd's in there, when i try to change cd's it makes a grinding noise, and then i get a message that reads: "CD ERROR." Worse still, i can't eject anything, and the cd player's door won't open.

Can someone help me out? It's an '03, and i'm pretty sure the CD player is called Mach 6 or something...The radio works just fine, i just can't get the cd player to work.

Factory CD players are junk.

You have the same problem 95% of 99-04 Mustang owners have.

Only thing you can do is buy a new unit.

I just had a problem like this in mine. '03 Mach 460 Head unit. Fortunately, my door was stuck open, not shut. I tried everything to get my cds out, but what worked best for me was what another forum member suggested. Someone told me to try and pull the fuse out to disconnect all power from the headunit, then plug it back in, resetting the Head unit. When I did this, my changer threw out all the CDs it was holding at the time. This was not a 1 time occurance either. Now I'm having/putting in an AVIC-D3 H/U to solve my problems. Just gotta do some more research before I tear into the car...
