Default Question about Alarms On Cd Players

My friend just sold me this cd player
http://www.xplodsony.com/article/Son...s+CD+Receivers

The way he got it i really can't say, but i got it for a decent amount of money, and i tried pawning it off and when i tried they said the lights werent working, i'm pretty sure the LCD and all that stuff. The fuse is fine, well know i grew on to this cd player and i want to put it in my car but i need to fix the light problem. I'm scared to take it to get fixed, because i hear that Sony likes to put alarms on their cd players if it has been stolen. I don't want to take the chance and get my friend in trouble[:@]

Default RE: Question about Alarms On Cd Players

I don't help thieves[:'(], nor the friends of thieves[:'(] that buy their equipment[:'(].

I recommend sending it back for a warrenty repair[:-]..........
