6 disc changer question

6 disc changer question
Just wondering how to get the 6 disc changer to work with my car. I have a 2001 GT without the mach 460 sys. I pluggedin the radio and it worked but the cdplayer did not and also i couldnt adjust the bass no matter how high i turned it up no bass came though the speakers....?
