Default Anyone use an EQ?

What are some good equalizers? I'm looking to put one where the stock cd player is because there are 2 DIN sized openings in my dash. I have an older panasonic headunit with plenty of pre-outs and is very expandable xm,sirius, bluetooth, etc, so im planning to keep it for a little while.

Im looking to fine tune my sound so maybe an 11band eq? I know how to use one, I dont want it to just "hear the bass" I like to hear everything balanced and clear. I will be putting Infinity speakers, sub and amp in down the road so drivers arent an isssue. Any EQ recommendations, anyone have one in their car??

I put a Pioneer Premier 880PRS in my Mustang... it has 2 16 band graphic EQs built into it

My previous radio (in the past three or four cars) was Pioneer Premier 940MP - it had a 13 band graphic EQ built in.

Yeah i've been looking to get one, it seems like most headunits dont come with enough built in adjustment. I'm always making adjustments for every song while driving down the road.

People who ride with me freak out because of it, but its not like im staring at it the whole time. I think ive pretty much memorized every button and how many presses it takes to make it do what I want.

I was looking at this DQX EQ its fully digital and has 30 bands and are adjustable 1/3 octave, It seems like it might be more then I need. But it can be set up with a remote and has a ton of adjustment, so I i go off the deepend with nice drivers i will be able to adjust them.

Im looking for quality more then making big annoying bass for everyone to hear, ive been there done that and im sure I lost a little hearing because of it. I had an older 15" RFR series Rockford Fosgate DVC sub in a bandpass box pushed by an Infinity 611a amp, it sat right behind the drivers seat in my Toyota Tacoma. It was loud but it was way too overpowering.[8D]
