Need help with subs please!!!
Stupid Internet, this is the 2nd time I write this post... [:@]
Anyways, I bought a Pioneer DEH-P6700MP hu recently. I ordered this wiring with the hu : http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ayphotohosting, it's the metra 70-5519.
I've plugged everything to the best of my knowledge and I have no subwoofer's working : I only have the 4 font speakers and 2 rear speakers but I have no subs. I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong. I'm also thinking that maybe I'm missing a wire since I still have 1 plug from my dashboard radio that is still unused (it's also written amp on it). I thought that maybeI was fine with only one amp wire but it appears that I needanother one.
Basically, I'm trying tofigure out howI can make my subwoofer's work : I've shopped to almost every audio shop around here and they all told me that they have to order the part. If that is right, which part exactly will I need? I've been looking everywhere on the internet and havn't found a plug that fits with the one from my factory radio that's unused. I know that I need a wire with 2 rca's (theses will go into my hu) and the other side is a square shaped plug with 14 + 12 + 14 "small plug holes" in them....
This may also be important : the amp plug that I currently have (the metra one) has 2 rca jacketsthat are going into my hu but also 4 wires,on 2 of them, it's written amp on and 2 of them have amp ground written on them. What do theses wires do and if I have to plug them, where do they go???
Thanks a lot guys,
Nick

I was reading anotherpost from ttocs:
"all you needed to do was to hook up the remote turn on from the jensen to the amp turn on in the hrns. We have 4 people a week on here with that problem.........."
But where do I hook up that blue/white wire to ? I have no wires coming out of my headunit that have the same fonction. I do have however a blue wire that acts like a plug (it's shaped like a usb computerport but divides into2 plugs at the end of it) that is unused from my hu. It says (in the instructions)that it should go"to system control terminal of the power amp or ..."
Could that be the problem?

There must be someone in here that can help me with this problem.
Can't anyone help me?
This really sucks. I just want a decent sound system where I'll be able to play my cd's and mp3's without any complications (unlike the mach 460: cd's getting stuck all the time)

read the manual and figure out which wire is the amp turn on wire (remote power, whatever).
if that doesnt work you can rig the amp(s) to come on with a switch worst comes to worst. all u gotta do is get some speaker wire, put one end in the remote line on the amp, the other end to the 12v power, then run the line(s) up to your dash and rig up a switch.

This is the lamest answer I have ever heard, aren't we here to help each other out?

Hooking an amp up is as simple as
12V+
Ground
12V Switched (Remote)
Signal
Eveyr wiring harness I have ever seen that comes with an HU or adapts to factory system has every wire clearly marked with its location.
Ttocs has just about everything anyone would need to know aboutinsallingsubs/speakers in a car with the mach 460.
There is also a sticky with information that sure would help him out.
Jake helped becuase he is trying to steer someone away from working on thier car when they have trouble reading........
I'm not trying to be rude/insensitive but sometimes it isbest just to take it to a professional.

this isnt cub scouts, and its not an instructual course.
for your amp
12 volt constant-hook up to battery
remote turn-on(blue) - if your headunit doesn't have one then find a fuse in the fuse box that only turns on when the car is on. You can usually find that in the owners manual.
ground (Black) - find an unpainted location in the trunk to bolt it to
RCA inputs- these plug right into the headunit(if it has any) if not then purchase a speaker level toRCA converter which is pretty inexpensive.
