When hooking up an amp is it better to hook up the ground or power wire first?
And also when hooking up a mono amp to two subs how should i wire the speaker wire?

I leave the negative at the battery disconnected, attach the power, ground, and remote, and then reconnect the negative battery terminal.
That is the safest way to connect your wires.
What is the configuration of the subs? DVC 4 ohm, DVC 2ohm, SVC 4 ohm, etc...

It depends on what ohm rating your amp can handle, but this link is very detailed!

yeah always disconnect your neg battery terminal and it wont matter how u stick the wires in.

i always select the ground, silicon and securely tighten it, wire everything but the remote and power. your remote wire should be installed last if not disconnecting the battery.
The ground SHOULD always be the last thing hooked up. When you connect the the ground your amp chassis is now grounded as well. If you should happen to let your scerwdriver/allen key or what ever you are using to tighten you power wire up with (if it is live) touch the chassis you will see sparks. Sparks are bad as they tend to let the magik smoke out of electronics. A trade secret is that electronice runs on smoke much like your car does gas. Let out the smoke is just like running out of gas.
If this keeps up you are gonna earn the title of sticky boy........
