Default Fat Mat Opinions

Hello,

I just recently took my door apart because my window had jumped off the track. Since I took the door panel off, I wanted to put fat mat (dynamat) on my door also. I have two questions though.

First off, is this stuff good enough to get:
http://www.fatmat.com/Rattle%20Trap/...oor%20kits.htm

Second off, the original seal that was on the door, do I need to keep that on the door if I use the fat mat?

I got 100ft of this stuff to my Stang, YEAH it's worth it (and I used all but everything covering the Mustang.)

Pain in the A$$ taking the seats out etc, but the after-effects seem to be well worth it

I'm in a vert with Magnaflows so I hear more than the average user does, to me... worth the time (and the effort) installing this stuff

never used that brand personally. Check out browm bread or amazon has had some deals on dynamat lately. I cover it on page 7 I think on my cardomain page in my sig. You should not need the weather sealer if you do it right.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and got the dynamat off amazon.com. Cost around 60 bucks with a roller since I figured I would need this also.

What kind of knife did you guys use on this? Is it fairly easy to cut?

Any type of "good" blade will cut the material, it's relatively pliable

Take care doing the wheel-well area, and below the rear seats (convertible anyways)there are a pair of large plastic grommets that you'll need to pull out, insert the mat, cutting out the hole for the grommetsand then put the grommets back in

In the trunk area, there are also plenty of drain holes... make sure you don;t just cover over them!!!

On your doorskin deal, I pulled the plastic outer layer down so it exposed the main doorskin, matted and then replaced the plastic outer layer
