Speaker Brand preference?

I am pretty sure I want to upgrade my stock speakers before I go for any other mods.
I am considering Memphis PR series Coaxial speakers. Any thoughts on these? They are supposed to be pretty high quality. How do they compare to JBL GTO series or, say Kenwoods or anpother brand sold at a place like bestbuy? I can get the two sets I need for jus tunder 180 from a local shop.
Basically two sources told me my current speakers break up because they lack a build in crossover or something like that, and this guy said the memphis' have them. He pulled out 3 ways, what are your thoughts on 2way bs 3 way speakers?

the dude who sold me my fox had some kenwoods and the factory amp fried them in about 3 weeks.
I liked the DA midrange speakers when they first came out in 05, and havent had much of anything since. 180 for a pair of Memphises? thats about right to me. good luck
