Default Question on an after market head unit.

Can anyone help me out, im in a bit of a snag here. Okay so heres the situation, i just recentley purchased a 98 mustang gt with the mach 460 sound system in it, it sounds good the way it is, yes i know this but i wanna add a after market head unit inside of this. Now, i bought what i thought to beleive the right wiring harness, but i realized only after taking out my radio, the amps have there own plugs in back of the stock unit. My aftermarket stereo does not. Is there any adapter/wiring harness or radio that comes with the set up for the mach 460 system. I want all the same speakers to work, i just want a different head unit. Anyone know any way to do this?

In the second harness kit you'll only be using the bigger white harness, not the black one. Note the two blue wires (one with a white strripe), those both need to be connected to a seperate turn on wire (the antenna and the actual amplifier turn on wire)

You'll need a head unit with 3 sets of RCA's if you ever plan on adding a subwoofer.

the second plug is just a general ford stereo harness adapter, metra 70-1771 that can be purchased locally.

will this work also? my mach 460 headunit is gone to hell so im just gonna buy a jensen 7inch monitor, but is this what i need to keep my amps on the 03 mach 460? im not sure if these years being different matters, also what did you mean ovalevader when you said he needs a HU with 3 rcas if he ever wants to add a sub? i already have a sub and amp, so am i good with this or what?

don't buy things that you don't need.
just buy the metra 70-1770

buy the metra 70-1770.
then you have the factory harness that plugs into your factory hu.
your aftermarket hu will come with its own harness.
what you do it plug the 70-1770 to the factory harness.
plug your aftermarket hu harness to the back of the hu.
match up the colors of the aftermarket hu harness to the 70-1770.
connect the wires.
here's a sketch.
