The Infamous SVTJohn has a ?
Ok right now i have a Kicker CVR 10", Kicker ZX300.1 Amp, and a Panasonic HU. I'm looking into sub speakers right now. Just wondering if these will fit in my car. I have a 2000 mustang v6 coupe.
Edit: Does anyone know the measurements for the stock sn95's speakers, the speakers i'm looking at are 6-3/4. Will they fit??? [sm=feedback.gif]

i just noticed that too y is your name svtjohn when you have a v6? Are these for doors? I dont think they will because thestock speakeris 5.5x7.5. Usually you could make a new bracket out of mdf for a smaller speaker. But i think that would be 5/4" too big. Not positive though and this is just off of speculation. measure the hole youre trying to put it in and use some common sense. if the original speaker opening is only 5.5" tall, how are you gonna be able to put a speaker in that is 1 1/4"bigger than that? Im sure you can make it fit if you want to bad enough though.Anythings possible.
its like the game when you were a kid where you try to fit the shapes in their respective holes. The square wouldnt fit into the circle but the circle could fit into the square.
well I dont know about your door speakers, as I havent pulled apart my doors yet, but I do know you can make a plat out of say 3/4" MDF to enable a 6.5 to fit into a hole that had a 5.5X7.5 in it. the thickness will allow the cone to narrow down enough to fit the hole with out hitting the frame. I just dont know how muych of a clearance issue you would have in front of it.
It is very easy to install a round speaker in an oval hole. I have made adapters on numberous occasions to fit a 6.5 in place of a 6x8 or 5x7. If you can trace and use a hand saw it is incredibly easy.
John,
If your looking for bass up front, look into a component set with woofers, tweeters, and crossovers. That will be your best bet at moving your sound stage forward and getting better overall sound.
A requirement of running those midbass speakers or any comp set is that you will need another amp to power them. If you let us know your budget, we can recommend some great speakers.

Welcome don't care what you drive. For the most part just ignore 75% of the BS on here and listen to the few of us that know what we are talking about.
I cover how to build a 6.5" baffle to fit in my 94 gt's 5 x 7 hole on page 6 er 7 of my cardomain page in my sig. I also show how to build a simple enclosure to help, but it is not necesary.

why post if you are not sure what you are talking about? it is much cleaner and more simple if we don't have EVERYONE that THINKS they know what is going on posting their opinion.

I don't know anything about motors so I do not reply to every single post on there because it would annoy the people on there that know what they are talking about.
