ADDING MACH 1000 SUBS
Hi i own a 2003 vert with a mach 460 , i have the mach 1000 4 amp rack and both subs as well as the mach 1000 head unit i am interested in adding this to my vehicle, i have read the forums and done a search and it seems that everytime some ask a question like this they get asked why/ or told to go aftermarket.I already have the parts and just need some help with the wiring .I have a partial harness , it has the plugs to connect to the amp rack with about 10 inches of wiringon the other end so .Need to know where to connect the white w purple stripe wires, purple w blue and green with black as well as the orange , green w black, gray w black and blue w red wiresinside thegray loom, any positive info or photos is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
man I have never found ford audio wiring to be all that reliable to be able to tell you wire colors. If i needed to figure out what wire was what I would go and find the corresponding wire hrns on the wall and plug it in to figure out the pins. This is probably not as easy for you if you are not in a shop... With that being said I really would not be able to help you other then to tell you to which amps do what in my car which was a 94 gt hardtop. Most audio shops will carry a full line of ford premium bypass hrns's that will plug into the hrns's that you have and allow you to know what is what. If you go to a place like best buy or city you could buy the hrns's, carefully open and use them to tell you what you want and then return them. You would have to take in the hrns you have and the installer will probably be callin you a moron for trying to do what you want but I would be happy to help with what I know. I am not afraid to say that I know more about the 460 system then most on here but not the 1000....
Whis is the remote lead? I think i fihured both power and grounds for the amps ,and I think i figure the speaker + and neg do i ground the orange along with the metal shield? to the body ( the one inside the smaller grey and orange loom?, thanks
the remote lead isa wire that goes from the deck to the amps. In ANY normal system when the radio is on the remote lead will have +12v on it when the radio is on to tell theamps to turn on. Ford likes to use a +6v remote lead in most premium systems.
Man if you don't know what a remote turn on is I ain't tellin you to ground anything.....

I just do not know any installers that know factory premium wire colors or pin locations. All we do is pull it, cut it or tuck it..... It is rare we integrate into it and when we do we normally hit the hrns with a volt meter. I really want to help ya but....
I have a 460 system, but want to add just one mach 1000 sub enclosure so it takes up less room than the(ugly) box I have in the trunk now. Do you know where I can find this part? Sub or not, doesn't matter- I just want the enclosure. Any leads are great. Please PM or email me because I'm never on here much. Thanks in advance.
