Default potential subwoofer setup...

My neighboor is pulled his system out of his old truck and decided to go with 1 JL W7 10" woofer instead of his 3 JL W3 subs out of his old truck. I can get all three from him for a kick *** price so that might be the plan. I have a 2000 GT convertible and was wondering what size box i'd need for the 3 and what kind of amp i would need to power them correctly...

What size W3's and what is the VC config of the speakers. What is you budget for an amp. Build the box to JL spec.

Based upon 10" woofers-

Quick google says .6-.9 cu ft per woofer, whic hputs you at roughly 1.8-2.7 cu ft for the subs sealed. Ported and you are stretching it to 3-4.5 cu ft. Say goodbye to your trunk.....

Amp wise, you need MAX 900 RMS, I'm sure 600 RMS would do them nicely....
