Default Problem with stock Mach 460

I was ejecting a CD from slot 6 and was going over a somewhat bumpy road. The player said CD Error and would not give me my CD and it is stuck in the player. The CD door is open and stays that way, and I can see the CD in there, but there is not enough room to get in there and pull it out, tweezers might work, but I'm not sure if there is a bigger problem.
Anyone have any ideas, or should I just take it to Ford? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the same system in my 03 and had the same problem about 2 years ago. Took into dealership and they replaced it. For now, I'd take a pencil eraser and push in the CD...you'll be able to get it to eject, and once you do, be sure to get the rest out. If you have ESP (extended service protection) on your car, they'll replace it no charge. Otherwise you can take it to an A/V shop you trust and ask them to advise you on it. These radios go bad all the time - I have one in my other Ford and have had it replaced 3 or 4 times. Let me know via PM if I can help you anymore, I don't normally frequent this site, but I'd be happy to emailyou back.

That sucks. I was hoping it wouldn't be that bad.

At were I work we replace alot of Ford CD-6 Radios(Not just mustangs). They get jammed, stopped working, what have you and the dealers want about $600-$800 to fix them, so people just end up going with anaftermarket.

The unit has to be replaced? There is no way to make it work again by taking out the CD?

Not saying the unit has to be replaced. All you have to do is take the CD player out, Carfully take apart the changer from the cd housing and remove the cd that is stuck. Put it back together and place it back into your car and it should work again. Just try not to move it around alot/jerk it, and especially do not turn it upside down. Should be fine after that.

Thanks for the help everyone, but I managed to fix it. I used a credit card to push the CD back in, then it ejected automatically. CD player is working fine now, thankfully.

try disconnecting power to the deck. you can pull the fuse, disconnect the hrns on the back of it or disconnect the battery. Resetting power will sometimes fix it.
