Has anyone seen this amp? it seems that i'm the only one that has one..... people are telling me that orion didn't make a 2100g4 just the 275g4.... and some say that it was a prototype... and that only the people that worked at orion could get them... before being bought out by DEI

hey I finally got a nibble. He said that they did NOT have any kind of display and asked for your pic. I forwarded it on and it should not take too long. He works in the technical dept for DEI so he should be the guy to know.....

How did you come across this piece? I am sure he will want to know.

 

i got it on e bay it's almost a twin to my 275 g4 but the power in and power out are flip floped on the 2100 g4 and it has the digital read out on the face
if you would like i could take some better pictures of it...... i do know this it puts out a s**t load of power

 

nk, here is the poop.

It WAS a regular production piece that only made a limited # of since it was right at the time that DEI bought orion. I guess DEI decided not to keep it on the line so it was only ran for a short period of time. They do not even have any manuals for it now.......

 

cool thanks for the info..... the people on e bay that i got it from said that only some of the workers at orion got the amps and it was never into production ... just R&D i just thought it was cool to get a new never used old school amp

 

There were 4 made, 1 left the shop. I chased it for yrs.. It went through several hands before hitting mine around 2013 or so... It's a serious keeper!
