Default 2000gt mach 460

IS it true that things started to get complicated with the mach 460 system in 2001? I heard that I will only need the basic harness for my 2000gt with mach 460, not the metra. can anyone verify this? thanks

If you have a 2001 mustang with the mach 460 system you will need the Metra Harness #70-5519. But for your 2000 GT I believe you need the regular ford harness and the 70-5510 harness (I believe the 5510 comes with RCA's already attached) You can also use the 70-5511 but you would need to attach your RCA ends yourself.. So all in all you need three plugs to integrate into your mach 460.

so this one should work? http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...02&tp=2977 Also I have the single tape deck/radio up top and seperate factory cd down by the shifter. I'm going to put the aftermarket HU where the tape/radio is, so I will have no need for the factory cd player down below, is there an aftermarket piece I can cover up the empty slot where the factory cd player goes?

Sorry I did not clear my post up. I accidentally submitted it before I was actually finished typing.

Yea you can buy a pocket that will snap in it's place. Also that harness is the one you need. But you will also need the one from Metra as I mentioned. (Metra #70-5510) All in all you need three harnesses.
