4 12's in my stang
this is my first post,i have been thinking about it for a long time, but 2 12's is not enough. I am in the process of building 2 more boxes to make a total of 4 12's. What i need to know is, what should i do capacitor wise? do i need to get a new altenator, what all do i need to deal with the lack of power that i predict to see?
hmm, i need to see this. What kind of subs? What kind of power? Enclosure? Skip the Capacitor AKA Bandaid. No way to tell if you may need a new alt if you dont tell us what kind of amp(s) you are running.
you'll gain very little db by adding more subs - 6-12 db is all...i would look at either rebuilding the box...most manufactures do not give you the specs on the best box for there subs..check this out

good site with good info..either way let us know what you do and post some pics

Even though it sounds like you have made up your mind, I would do some more research... 4 subs in a mustang.. hmm, we already have limited trunk space so I doubt your boxes will be giving your 12inch subs *assuming they are acutally decent subs* enough airspace. I would Personally do it right the first time and get a nice box that allows the right airspace and instead of getting 4 subs.. Get 2 subs that are top of the line. Alpine Type R is a really good brand.

Not sure what your thinking but 6-12db is a significant amount. He will never see that by cramming 2 more 12" in the stang trunk. I agree he would prolly be better off rebuilding his current system and getting better amps.

DB's are on a log scale and I can't remember exactly but every 6-10 db is double the audible sound.
4 audiobahn 12's and an audiobahn amp will pale in comparison to a properly built system with a good amp and some quality drivers.
This whole thread reeks.
If you refuse to buy new equipment and you want to run what you already own.
Build a big ported (and properly tuned!) and just use two of them. Really the trouble of adding an additional amp, building extra boxes.
The extra dB's you gain will be minimal, honestly you wont even be able to tell the audible difference.
Your amp shouldnt be drawing enough to give you any problems worth fixing. Audiobahn takes down their amp ratings when lightning strikes that amp while its submerged in a bathtub, meaning they are highly over-rated. If you do feel the need to upgrade, look into a Big 3 upgrade, then a battery upgrade, the alternator. I would do them in that order until your satisfied.
