Default new design

hey, i built a sub box for my subs, but it isn't really put together that well, it's basically this big square box in my trunk that slides around wayy too much.

so i decided to build a new one.

this is the hand-drawn schematic [sorry for the bad handwriting]

Picture Link

the top left is the subwoofer box, it's based off the stock subwoofer box. but, i didnt have the measurement, nor do i really have the proper carpentry skills. it's showing how it'll be hung and a sketch of the size and such

the top right is the sub box in relation to the amp rack. that drawing is really off, since it wont' really be angled that high, i did the math, the angle at the end's gunna end up being like 6 degrees.

the bottom right is, of course, just the amp rack.

i'm gunna have 4" from the highest point of the amp rack to the subs. what i'm gunna do [since i didn't really have the "Tall measurement" for the subs, i just estimated them at 4", and well... it was kinda booty. so what i'm gunna do when i do is hold up the amp on the board, and see how high i should go, then make my measurement by there. but that's just a basic representation.

what do you guys think? aye? nay?

(P.S. if you're wondering why the amp rack is so long, i'm putting 2.5" holes on each side of each amp [Of course the middle one will share a 2.5" hole, if all the wires fit. if not i'll cut it bigger)

and final though: sorry for writing so much. i worked kinda hard on this design, and wanted to make sure you guys got it all.

that box looks like the same general dimensions as mine. My only warning to you is that the sub cannot be a very deep speaker since the box is so shallow. I got away with it by using 4 8" subs since alot of 10's would be too deep. I actually found an easy way to mount the box that you could copy easily. It was little more then some weldable steel, a vise, big hammer and a drill and you can move the car with the box now.

i made sure that the subs would fit, the subs depth is 4-9/16", i put a 4-3/4" depth. i'm not sure if i should do more of a depth?
it's a little less than 1/4". i figured the back hole needed some room.

and im not too good with welding-- nor do i really have a welding device. but, i'd like to hear. maybe i can improvise or borrow some tools.
'cause i was kinda worried about how i'd support all that weight bouncing around. i was gunna put a bunch of screws straight down through the rear shelf into blocks and then into the box.
