Default HID trouble

I have a 06 GT that I just put some HIDs on. The fogs work fine, but the headlights would flicker and turn off. So I was told I needed to install a relay. I installed a relay hooking 30 to the battery, 87 to the ballasts, 85 to ground, and 86 to the headlights power source/switch. The ballasts are ok cuz while the car is off the lights work, but when its running they give me trouble. The relay keeps buzzing and the headlights tend to flicker worse now. Could I have shorted the relay by installing it wrong the first time and simply need to replace it? Thanks in advance.

it sounds like you have a bad connection in there somewhere. The HID's use a high voltage system that is DEPENDAND on PERFECT connections to work. How did you make your connections? if you have not soldered them I would but in general start simple and check your connections, I don't care if you swear its perfect. Some hid's use cheap ballasts that you can get to flicker on and off by tapping on them. Turn the lights on and then gently wiggle the hrns closest to the lights and then work your way up to a descent tug. If nothing happens then work your way down to the ballast, and then past it.......

A buzzing relay is usually a good indication of a bad ground.
