Default anyone have problems getting sub boxes into the s197 trunk?

i have a sub box that when measured, WILL FIT into that trunk, but i just have no idea how the hell i can get it in there... is anyone else running into this problem? if so, any way around it? removing seals, trunk latch components, plastic trim, etc... that enough?

i emailed a manufacturer of pre-fab boxes as well and am awaiting a response.

without pics its hard to say, removing the carpet/pressboard floor of the trunk might help.

i think the s197 and the sn95/new edge had the same retarded trunk set-up where there's literally no space to put in ANYTHING short of a shirt. :|

what you might have to do is build it INSIDE the car. i've seen this done before, and i might have to do it if / when i upgrade

ALL mustang owners(except with a hatch back) have problems putting sub boxes in their cars. It is not designed around the trunk or really with one in mind.

Sometimes taking the spare tire out allows for a little more room to move it into place.......

ill try taking out the spare... thanks for that tip!!

yeah i tried through the back too, NOT EVEN CLOSE. box is a normal rectangle shape, way too tall to fit through that opening.

Removing spare tire, trunk latch hook, rear seat (including the bracket), carpet, weather-stripping, 460 Rear deck cradle.

There is a way to get a 4.5 cubic foot box in a Mustang, I got mine in. Took removing everything I listed, but it went.

also take the clips out on the plastic trim that is on the bottom when you open the trunk and take it out and remove the spare tire and it will give you alot more room to get it in
