good price, but i say no dont do it.. that amp gives pretty good power for sony, but is unreliable and they blow up a lot, unless it has really good warranty dont do it. the subs are pretty good though
SONY= [:'(] thats why they are so cheap. My friend bought that setup for his Mazda Mx6 and it sounded like crap, he took it out sold it and get a pioneer system. If you buy it you wont be pleased. Use that money towards something better. You get what you pay for.... The thing about sony is that an amp will say 1000 watts but it will only be like 400 watts RMS true power, so people think that they have 1000 watts going into their subs but really their getting less than half. While other brands seem to give you more power. So i wouldnt get it, I have heard the setup, and it sounds like crap!
its true their wattage is way overrated, but that amp actually DOES give good power i guarantee it, i know a few poeple with it but they blow up a lot, i bought a 600 watt rockford and when it was tested it hit 801 watts
My technical take on this, and I have to say the best way to know if a system is good is to listen to it. Stats don't really tell you how good is sounds.
Sony must take a Dummy's Guide to Audio and build the system exactly the recommended way.
Amplifier signal-to-noise ratio: 100dB (Yep, because 100dB or better is the only way to go)
Subwoofer signal-to-noise ratio: 88dB (this value is normally low on subwoofers, cuz you can't hear this frequency anyway)
Subwoofer frequency response: 27Hz - 3kHz (great, anything under 30Hz will thump)
Amplifier: variable 50Hz-300Hz low-pass filter (no clue what this means, the 50Hz seems odd but I'm sure it's just dandy!)
150W RMS power handling - (perfect because you have 2 speakers totaling 300W, which should be 50% of the total watts which is OMG! 600W!)

ok then. does anybody know a good combo for about 200 dollars not including box and wiring? like i said before, i don't killer bass, i just want something that sounds good with rock and occasional rap.
I have 2 12" Xplods in my truck, and I have a Kicker Kx-600.1 amp pushing 725 watts between the two of them, at 70 bucks a woofer, then 180 for the amp, I say I have a pretty darn good setup for what it cost. I love my kicker amp too
try ebay.... you can get some pioneer, audiobahns, kicker, or fosgate subs for pretty cheap, i recommend getting something at least 400 watts rms and then a 400-800 watt rms amp, depends on how hard you want ur subs to hit. You can prolly get the subs for a little over 100 bucks, the amp is whats gonna cost more. 300 bucks will get you a good setup just look around...
