Default Installation help!

I got 2 cvr Kickers with a kenwood 640 watt amp....for now.

Ive installed systems before so here we go.

I cant get the subs to hit. I tried it on just channel A and I only get tiny bass from 1 sub if both wires are connected. I tried it on channel A and B and same result. The ground is good, the amp turns on, the P.con is connected to remote control on cd deck, Audio cables are connected to amp and deck, Fuses are good, idk what else could be wrong.

It is a 94 mustang gt. (dont ask how I fit them in the car) It has 2 factory amps in the back and i unplugged them to see if that made a difference and it only stops the factory bass. Is there something else im missing?

thanks, Ben.

Stock head unit or aftermarket? If so, what model? What's the model number of the amplifier? What are the VC configurations? Where are the filters set at? Gain settings?

if my research is correct, it looks like you have a Kenwood KAC 8401 amplifier. That amplifier is probably not the best choice for those subs. If yo uare not bridging the channels they are only getting between 60 and 90 watts each. If you are bridging the channels they are getting around 170 each. first those subs are not very efficient, meaning it is going to take a lot of power to get them to do what you want. Second, I'm wondering if you have the wiring wrong on the subs. If that is the case, you are sending as little as30 watts to each of them. That would definitely cause them to not do much.

well it was out of my gf's car and they bumped HARD in hers. Right now 1 sub is just barely making a noise. Its an aftermarket Pioneer cd player. Everything i kept the same i have both as LPF and i tried bridging and leaving it normal and it does the same thing. Does my Mach 460 have something to do with it?? I connected the thin power connector to the cd player that says Remote Control. Everything seems to be right. I can turn the amp all the way up and they wont pound any harder.

the P.con is connected to remote control on cd deck,

thanks, Ben.
Ben,

Are you saying that you are connecting the power wire from your amp to the head unit?
If so, I am sure that is the problem.

Put a meter on that connection and check the voltage. I needs to be 11.5 volts or higher.

Also,

what is the impedance of your subs and how do you have them wired to the amp?

Yes you are, I just looked at a picture of you amp and that is correct.

How about the voltage at the Batt. connection?
And as posted above, what is the impedance of your subs and how are they wired to your amp?

Well i went out and bought a whole new cd player wired it all up and for the first time I got it to bump a decent amount. The impedance is 2ohms I havent tested the battery but it just seems like not enough uhmp is there. my gf's car POUNDED with these. Would bad rca cables cause this??
