Default sorry, still confused

Ok the back of my JVC avx800 has 1 sub out on the 5.1 channel plug, and I'm still confused w/ the shaker 500. I have everything else wired up and ready to slide into the dash, but this is holding me up. I have read two different things...reading Taco Bills write up on his unit (https://mustangforums.com/m_3552926/...tm.htm#3556873) he used a Y connector with 1 female and 2 male, but he had to rca plugs for his sub in the back. Do I need a 2 female to 1 male to give me two rca plugs for the smaller part of the metra harness? I have also read that I can just plug in the red rca plug into the unit because the white plug is for the shaker 1k...is this true? Will anything not work/work incorrectly if i just plug in the red rca? I promise not to bug you guys with this crap again once i get it figured out lol. Don't units usually have 2 plugs for subs? Somebody please help me out, I want to slide this deck in tomorrow when I get off of work.

I had it set up like this for a moment but second guessed myself:
red rca --> Head Unit Subwoofer plug
white rca --> to rca "Y" of 1 femal to 2 male...for what I'm not sure, I think I was plugging it in for when I wanted to run a sub and amp from my trunk but I screwed something up /sigh...should it have been 2 female-1 male rca to plug the shaker into and then just chain another one for an another sub?

--Hope this helps more--
--plugs in the back of my unit--
AV/IO: video out, 2nd audio out (2 plugs), video in, camera in, line in, reverse gear signal

Line Out (5.1ch): line out rear (2 plugs), line out front (2 plugs), center out, OE remote, subwoofer (1 plug)

I think taco used a splitter so that he could use the factory woofers, as well as his new subs.

you will need a male/2 female, then run the rca's as you would normaly.the frnts andrear are a stere signal and the rear is a mono for some reason

sorry i let this kinda drop off, I figured it out this weekend when I pulled my shaker 500 out the dash...everything gets a lot simplier when you see everything you are dealing with. When i get a chance to snap some pictures of the unit in the dash i'll post them up. The video is clear, it sounds good, but I wish the ipod controls were a little more user friendly.
