I guess with a DD you replace the basket with the motor pre installed onto the magnet?

ill try and find the vid of us running it off the wall socket (played for over 10mins and no damage and thats with bad coils)

The wall socket and subs are usually not very good friends...

^^^ yea its not good for most subs. But that was not a REGULAR sub.

we did the same to a kicker l7 15 (hole in dust cap and possible magnet shift) and lastest a whole 11 sec's and we were smoking.

ttoc - i dont think its a known issue this sub was thrashed for over 2 years with anywhere from 800 to 5800 on a daily bases. New series might have issue's but very doubtful since there quality control is out of this world.

I have been hearing more and more chatter amongst the industry that they are not making nor servicing stuff the way they use to. We have seen this happen to many many brands before, enter at your own risk...

I heard they are trying to make subs for every one else now. I still say MTX should be sued for using the 9500 series with there jack hammer subs. Any one who really is into car audio knows/mentions 9500 you automaticlly think of DD.
