Well,
You can do two things...
Number one you can understand howit works and do the math for yourself:
http://www.realcaraudioreviews.com/Articles/Fuses.jsp (Comes out to a 52A Fuse)
Number two, you can read the owners manual:
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/13320.pdf
Page three... They recommend a 50 Amp fuse.
And you should probably upgrade to 4 Ga... You're borderline with that 8Ga wire...

thanx dude, i read the manual for my amp but i overlooked that part[sm=chairshot.gif]i'll be sure to try an 50 amp fuse tomorrow, and as far as 8 gauge goes, i've been using it since i had this set-up in my stang and it never was a huge problem, i'll probably wait on the 4 gauge tho cause the 8 is working finejust for now
edit: and now i feel even stupider for just now realizing i bought about 8 40 amp fuses today and i ended up running through half of'em trying to figure out the problemand that was a waste of 5 bucks[&:]

No problem,
But regarding the power cable, think that your fuse was blowing at a 40 Amp draw. Now you will have an extra 10 Amps that the cable must handle. If your run is long, the cable will heat up. Just saying it's better to stay on the safe side of things, after all, 10Ft of cable might be worth $20.00. I'm sure you value your car more than that...

I think this post has missed a couple of points. What they are trying to say is that you are close to the max current draw on your power wire, hopefully the amp is the only part being powered by that wire? Upgrading fuses is a band-aid over a wound that will not heal.
I just do not want people to think that when a fuse blows, put in a bigger one. I have seen some people do some major damage to their cars by doing this. One guy had a black line burned into his tan interior from the battery, to the amp from doing just this.....
