assuming this is for the 02 gt in your sig, it is difficult to replace just the woofers of the mach system because they use a strange impedence(8 ohms) were most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohms. You can brighten the mach system up alot with a new deck and some tweeking, and then you can use an speaker you want.

Hey ttocs, is there a resistor or something that I can put in parellel or series with the speaker to get the right value for the amp load. I put aftermarket speakers in the doors of my 2002 GT (Mach 460 system) and they cut out if the volume is up past 1/2. I have heard others have this problem, but never heard a solution other than replacing the amps with aftermarket ones.

I really don't want to replace the whole system right now.

you could put a high wattage resistor in there but it will not help you as it will now burn off half of your power from your amp in the form of heat, making your speaker now play with half the power.

This was the reason your system was cutting off at half power. If you replaced your deck you can bypass the amps
