Default Interior Neons

What is your guys opinion on having interior neon lights under the stering wheel down in that area so it shines on your feet. I mean im not trying to make it look like a ricer but i think that would give it a pretty sweet taste to the inside of the car. Im going to make them blue neons. Just wanted to see your guys opinion on them.

I have a small blue neon to dress up my audio, but I never liked the idea of under-body or under-dash neons. It looks too ricerish in my opinion.

what is the first thing you say or think when you see a guy drive by with that dim light comming up from under the dash? Same thing we do, RICE[:'(]

Now don't get me wrong I have used some led's to highlight some points of my audio installation(amps and distr block)but I have not found any reason to highlight my feet. If you are going through with it then get led's instead of neon, they use less current and last longer.

I have blue LEDs in those two places. I put a rocker switch where the power adapter is in the 05+ (top center console) to turn them off if they got annoying. It can look pretty nice (I adore blue) but the switch helps when it just seems a little bright or you just aren't in the mood.

Plus my younger siblings get a kick out of it and it only was $30 and 30 mins install (mostly getting the darn console apart)

If you do it, do it tastefully. I don't have them in my Stang, I have had them in my intrepid and bonneville but I installed some red ones in a buddies 94 GT. Only guidelines I suggest...

Never let wires show, run the power properly and connect a switch. Don't get one of those things you plug into a cig lighter for 5 plugs.

Don't let the source of the light show, tuck them up and out of the way.

Do it in moderation, you don't need 15 lights within your dash.

Don't use more than one color, or colors that don't match your cars color. Don't use red when your car has green exterior and black interior.

Oh yeah having a car that is fast also helps. If you have a fast car it kinda gives you free reign to some things that are generally titled as ricer-ish. The 94 I put them in is in the 500 hp range so not to many people checking out his car complain about a few lights under the dash when they see the D1.

I can deal with that. I have installed sterio stuff before and there will be no wires showing i got 2 15' LEDs for 5 dollars from a buddy. It has a on off button so if i think it looks to ricish then it will be gone for sure. Also i cut off the cig lighter plug ins and im going to run them to the fuse box to make it look better.

I'd use a toggle swtich but you can connect it to a ignition type fuse if you always want them on when your lights are.

Yeah I thought you said LED's... If you have 15" LED's its going to look like a nuke went off in your car.
