Problems with stereo
ok so i drive a 1986 mustang gt, the previous owner has the wiring all messed up....i have just a basic pioneer head unit, but the problem is that everytime i turn it on i have to reset my radio stations, and move back to whatever track i was listenin to on my cd, everytime i shut the car off i gota redo this stuff...anyone know whats wrong... is it a wiring issue???
Yes, one of the wires in the radio (check your manual, usually yellow) needs to be connected to a constant source of current, so when you shut the car off, the head unit remains powered by this cable (extremely small current draw) to be able to maintain all the memory settings. No clue what the correct wire to tap is on an '86, but once you locate it, that should be the fix to your problem.
And btw... that's an impressive collection of mustangs.
