Default Aftermarket Satellite

Has anybody invented a way to use the factory sirius antenna to connect to an aftermarket player?

I just checked this out today since I am replacing my shaker 500 with a pioneer head unit w/xm. Took my XM MyFi out to the car and plugged it into the trunk mounted antenna. Note that I had to remove the plastic casing from the antennas connection to do this.

Everything worked fine, but if you're planning on mounting your aftermarket sirius/xm tuner farther away than the factory location you're probably going to need an extension for the antenna.
