Just wonderin what you guys think of this set up? Focal polys in front and rear ran off of Alpine's 4.150 PDX amp, Alpine PDX 1.1000 amp running 3 10" subs not sure of the subs yet tho possibly JL Audio w3's or Diamond Audio d6's ( to explaine the reason im going with the Alpine PDX amps is they r smaller then most of the amps at those power ranges)

^^^ as far as amp size no there are many small footprint amps that pack massive power and alpine isint one of those but u do as you do.

Cant go wrong with polys seen them heard them love them. But u will need no rear speakers with a good front stage ull be more then happy (ull gain no sq by adding a rear stage) nor will u be able to hear it anyways. As far as subs most know whats good and what is not and if i were you id change my thought process. I like to buy once not every year.

If you install the full comp set in the back it will destroy your sound stage!!! I'd get a PDX2.150 and just run some front comps. If you are set on rears, ditch the tweets and low pass the mids on the amp between 500-1000 hz.

Those PDX amps are pretty nice. I just installed a pdx5 bridged to some CDT comps on channels 1-4 and the sub channel on an ED SQ10. Sounds great for a single amp setup and it still fits under the front seat of a mini cooper.

I personally think you can do much better for the money on subs, but I have liked a few of the diamond subs I've heard.

I love alpine, the pdx is sexy as hell and I was lookin at them for a long time but does anyone know if they fixed their problem of blowing all the fuses at one time?

as for the rear speakers rising up and making a bloody revolt to kill the front speakers, or that you will never ever hear themI think you two are taking it a little too far... The fact remains that you WILL hear the rear speakers, when done right aGOOD rear stage can help a soundstage, and many people are use to having rear fill.

I agree that there are many successfull sound quality competitors with no rearfill but I dare you to find one that is in a mustang using stock speaker locations and we are not all looking to compete. Telling someone what sounds good to them while typing has always just seemed funny to me...

If you like rear fill, which most people do, feel free to keep right on rockin them.

tru i guess but with3 10's in the trunk and a set of polys up front there would be no way or hearing the rears(i guess ur passengers would but do you wanna drop say another 200 - 300$ on something that will have lil to no impact on your overall musical exp).

So would I be better off doing just the polys in front and possibly just coaxials in back ran off of deck power? I currently have the Alpine Iva-W205. As far as sub choice I want 3 10" subs ran off a the Alpine PDX 1.1000 so its a 1 ohm load what subs do you guys reccommend? Like ive said before the reason I like the brands I like is because im from a somewhat small town (80,000 people) and these are the name brands that the shops around hear carry so this is what I have heard for myself. I have never heard Focal or CDT and other brands pretty much Aline, JL, Memphis and Diamond run the car audio world in the town im from. Thanks for the help by the way

I would invest all the money you have for mids and highs into the highest quality front comps you can find.

3 ED 13OV2 4 Ohmers would be amazing for under $300 for all 3...

Yeah im lost as to why you want to do 3-10" woofers. Why follow and go with the norm, try something new and show it off, **** everyone off that yours is louder and sounds better

And we have beat it into people before not to waste time and money on a rear stage, and many of those people have came back in here praising how happy they are with a more solid front stage and said they don't miss the rears at all. If you are doing say coaxials all the way around and maybe just a deck upgrade I would keep the rears in. Thats what I have right now in my stang. If you upgrade your front stage significantly or add a subwoofer at all though I ditch the rears.

you keep saying this and I have to argue that it is a strange argument to support your idea. You will not hear the rears because of the 3 10's? You will hear them even if they are driven off of the deck power, I promise.
