Heard Elemental Designs yesterday for the 1st time and im not impressed at all!
What did you hear?

How was it installed?

How much power?

[sm=chairshot.gif] LOLOLOL

eD's ok,great warrenty,solid build,great amps and subs........Dont like the comps much (6500s)
The 6500's are rebadged CDT HD's with different crossovers. How much power was going to those comps. If anything less then 150 those midranges were starving for power.

The problem I have with that statement is that I can make anything sound bad. I don't care what brandor cost.
I used closer to 180x2 on the 6500s......My356s smoke the 6500s.......HUGE

eD is bang for buck company, generally speaking. I would never put anything eD currently offers in an audiophile category, nor total SPL catergory, it's extremly well rounded and all at great prices.

I have always thought about which $800 set of component speakers I want and what 1500 watt @ 4 ohm amplifier I want to power a SS woofer. It's all too far fetched for me anymore, I don't spend enough time in my car to utilize and appriciate anything that high end. So for me a 13Av2, some $350ish CDT's, and a CD7200 will do me just fine.

You also said just looking at it the install looked pretty shady. A bad box can ruin a subwoofer very easily. As P said, I can take anything you can throw at me and make it sound worse than some Dual's in a well designed system.

First off mounting a amp to the back of the box is a horrible location to mount the amp! So if they have done 100's of installs in which they mounted the amp to the back of the sub box then maybe they shouldnt be installing audio systems. Im not a installer but even I know that you shouldnt mount amplifiers there!

i didnt think it mattered that much if you mounted amps on the back of the box......ALMOST half the installs i've seen have amps mounted on the box.....
