Default Convertible area for amp/sub

I have an '05 Convertible. I have made a few improvements, but all pretty minor stuff... Now I would like to put in an amp and sub - and get rid of the under-the-seatone I have now... it's just not enough bass! Here's my dilemma though - I don't want it in the trunk and I can't put it behind the rear seat because of the convertible top. I thought maybe I could put it in the metal frame behind the back seat, but I'm afraid it would interfere with the top as well.

I'm afraid if I put it in the trunk, the sound is going to be very muffled because of the top itself, as well as all the metal between the trunk and me.Any ideas!? [sm=smiley29.gif]

Finding the same problem myself, 97 convert. I have a 10" solobaric in the trunk in a box right now. And even with the top down on the road, it sounds good. I just dont like having a box that takes up a lot of room. I am going to do some work on the car this weekend, to address this issue. I will let you know if I find ANY type of solution.

I thought I typed a responce to this back when?

Do you use your rear seat? If it is not used much or at all there is all kinds of room there for something. The other option is to ditch the spare tire, keep your cell phone charged and AAA paid.

everything I talked about was a custom purpose built system made to fit the car. A tube is going to limit you since you can't design the enclosure
