Default RE XXX Subwoofer Set Up Help

Hey guys Im new to the forums but not to car audio. Right now I have 2 JL W6v2 in a custom sealed enclosure and they hit pretty good. Im been wanting to upgrade to the Resonant Engineering XXX subs that are monsters and put JL to shame. I have the power to run them Clif Designs AX 20 4000RMS amp (old skool and love it) But alas im a mustang owner and trunk space is very limited. These subs Recomend 1.1 but the company when calls says 2.81 cubic feet so 2.00 for each sub and its gonna have to be custom enclosure. I want to here from those who have these subs in a mustang and show pics of setup suggestions and boxes etc. any comments would be great couldnt find mustang pics of them on the net. Thanks

Haven't seem them in a mustang.

Get ready for a lot of fiberglass and at least some 1" mdf... Those subs are monsters. Make sure to include sub displacemnt in your volume calcs becuase that motor structure is huge-gantic.

crap.. 2 XXXs arent going to fit.. i would do 3 cubes on each sub with 2K going to each as well just to let them breathe. i would tune it to 32-34 hz as well for musicality. your problem is just airspace. i was thinkin about doing 2 MXs but my plan was to take the back seat out and fiberglass a wall where the seat was.. making the trunk my enclosure.

I have not seen anyone on here do that, it is a really big box for a stang. I have a guy in my club that wants me to build him 4 cu ft box for some 12s, not sure what brand. I am planning on building a box that will go in place of the back seat and inverting the subs to get as much space as possible out of the box. The only other options for boxs that big will be to build them in pieces and partially assemble it in the trunk or loosing the spare tire and building a box in there. Either of the ways will requre some crafty construction using a bunch of different construction methodes and carefull planning. if/when I build his I will certainly post pics but I don't think he plans onpulling the trigger shortly.

Stumbled onto this old thread of mine lol. Cant believe the time has gone by and still working out this dream project but school is over and life is starting so cash slowly coming in. Ive been researching this for a good 2 years now and its going to be a sick *** project and having 2 of these bad boys working in my mustang one day. Custom alt. Custom fiberglass mdf box in place of the back seat is how these bad boys will be riding. This info is must to even to make this possible. Ive been working on some wicked design concepts and they all lead to the same end result $$$$$ so this project is still back burner but the burner is still on and definitly up date this thread with install progress and picks when that day comes https://mustangforums.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif
