Cheap amp on some nice subs will sound like crap on a good day. When it comes to audio you need 3 things get a nice sound from your subs:

Nice subs- check
Box made for the subs- check
Amp-?
You need to match everything up with what JL recommends on there specs for the subs. Maybe look at an Alpine PDX 600.1(600rms at 2ohms or 4ohms), Rockford 500.2

my goal is cheaper

well after some talk with the parents, i have to go a little cheaper

so im getting these 2 JL w1v2 10's in a sealed box

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_e...mp;prod_id=325

so would i have to get an amp pushing 600 watts at 2 ohms? or does the peak power of 1200 watts say otherwise?

go on ebay and look...definitely can find good deals on there for amps thats what I did

try a 1000 W Kenwood amp

fyi JL's aren't gonna hit as hard as say Rockford's or Alpine Type R or Kicker
but they have good sound quality

My vote is of course bias but I say go with 2 12 kicker cvrs and an 800 rms amp. Build your own box (3/4 inch MDF) and wire it yourself and your looking at around $420. If you want it loud go ported on the box. If your building your own make sure you know how to tune the ports before you make it. Your box is 80% of your system so make sure you know what your doing first.
