Sub Wattage Q
OK, the subs I ordered a while back have been back ordered so I'll have to pic out new ones or wait a long while, here's my new problem. The amp I picked out is a 600 RMSW @ 2 ohm 2 channel amp/ 300 RMS @ 2 ohm, 150 RMS @ 4 ohm, 600 RMS @ 4 ohm bridged.
Here is my question, if I get 4 ohm dual coil subs, how much RMS power should I look at? 2 300 RMS, or 2 600 RMS after the bridge. I know that if you wire one 600 RMS sub bridged you get 600 RMS watts, but I'm confused about the wattage when you run 2 if it cuts the wattage to each sub down to 300 RMS.
I'm sort of stuck with this amp, and I really don't want to have to get another one and run 2 amps for my subs due to a back order problem so I want this one amp to work out so that the other space I have can go to a second amp to run the speakers.

Well getting the most out of both the amp and subs for their rating. In other words, if they bridge only supports 300 rms watts per sub, then I'll get subs rated at 300, if it supports 600 per sub then I'll get two 600 rms subs.
Sorry,
I should have been more clear. By "What is the goal?" I mean "Do you want it to sound good, or do you just want it to be loud?"
What is the make/model of the amplifier, your listed specs seem to contradict each other.

Sound quality with some loudness, but mainly great quality, in other words, no ghetto raggy sounding crap.

If you want SQ, then you want Stereo bass. I assume that you intend to wire the 4-ohm DVC subs with the voice coils in parallel, then you will arrive at 2 ohms per channel. This amp can deliver 300w/ch at that load. Buy woofers that can handle 300w RMS.
BUT...
Since your goal is SQ, it's more important that you get a "Good Sounding" woofer, rather than just trying to get something powerful. Have you thought out the rest of the system yet? (There are more important/more expensive things that you will need in order to get SQ than just woofers, right?)

Already have a good stereo, and believe it or not, my old 2 way Eclipses are doing just fine. I finally found some specs on them, and there are very few brands out now, including the new Eclipse stuff, that surpass them, so the speakers in the car are going to stay a while.
