Default pioneer subs

I've tried using the search function on this site, and for some reason i'm obviously not technical enough to figure it out........
I know it's been suggested, and used before but who has installed the pioneer shallow subs, and how do they sound? it seems that people who have installed them never give their opinions afterwards.
thanks in advance.

I don't like the shallow subs. It may be because I have only heard them in little boxes, but if this is for your mustang go with traditional style subs with a custom box to fit your needs.

If you go onto youtube.com you can find videos of the shallow subs and how they sound as well. It would help to know what type of installation you would like. If you have an 05+ with a Shaker system and you would like to put these subs in the door, then I can give you an idea of how they will sound. Your bass will be tighter and you will get a little bit more sound out of them. All of this will depend on your entire setup and whether you are using an aftermarket head unit or not.

thanks, i didn't think of the you tube thing. Ihave an 07, and as of now it's stock, I plan on using either a pioneer, or kenwood dvd head unit, and just replacing the speakers. no major amps, or subs. thanks.

What can make you say definitivelty that the pioneer shallow subs will be tighter?

Sub size, brand, x-max, and construction are only a small part of the equation. The key to the musicality of a woofer, i.e. tightness, is the install of the woofer.

you will need to add an amp to drive an 8, and I would not run the factory amp to the new speaker......
