Default i need avic bad!!!

ok, ive allways been an advocate for the shaker 500 systems in the s197's. i know i will probably get flamed for that, and i deserve it. but i have seen the light!!! i was at a car show this weekend and had the oppertunity to see a stang (s197) with an avic d3 in it and now i have to have one. anyone have a source or info on where to get one cheap?? money's really tight right now, but i wont settle for anything less than the d3. an avic "z" series would be cool too but they're a little out of range for me, unless anyone can find them for less than $600.

ok, i have changed direction... i now want the pioneer avic f700BT. it does not play dvd's, (i wouldnt use that anyway) but its got the SDcard slot for nav and ipod and blue-tooth stuff built in and the dude at the stereo shop demo'd it very well and its pretty bad a$$. he also said pioneer isn't making the D3 series avic units any more.

so to sum it all up the F700BT is the goal. i found it locally for $575 on sale. sounds like a good deal to me, now i just have to work on the wife and sway her beliefs about the importance of car audio systems. lol

It will be hard to find a d3 now bc pioneer just came with the avic-f700bt/f900bt.

Nav. is alot better then the d3 bc you dont have to put a disc in everytime you want to use the nav. and the new system has alot more POI. Yes the 700bt doesnt have a dvd player. The 900bt has dvd player and msn direct(gives you traffic, gas prices, wheather, and movie times). The huge down fall on the new avic compared to the older avic is load time and very slow when you hit a button.

Dont get me wrong I love my d3 but I do want that new avic-f900bt.

that f900bt sounds great, but in all reality, i cant justify the extra features because i wouldnt use them. so its like paying a lot extra for something i will show my friends and never use again. if they were the same price, i would defenatly pic the f900bt over the f700bt though.

living in phoenix stuff changes too fast for me to have to depend on a map on a disk. The rate of expansion out here has left me lost at corners that I lived just off of 4 yrs earlier so when I need a nav I have been using my verizon wireless phone and thankfully it is updated pretty fast. There are a number of double din screens that look good in your dash.

New avic are alot easlier to update you dont have to buy 2 disk from pioneer for $250 anymore. You just update it throught the sd card spot.
