what are you wanting, and what are you wanting to spend?

The install of the alarm is the most important part. A great alarm with a bad install can leave you wondering where your stereo went or why your car will not start. Go and ask the installers what type of connections they use? Crimp is acceptable, solder is prefered and T-taps or scotch locks are a no-no. Ask fi they take the time to hide the alarm and take time to properly run the wires or are they just going to stuff it up in the dash. Some shops have a security installer that does nothign but alarms and these are normally great as they have experience.

Christ man saying that name "best buy" on here is going to start fights. Alarms/keyless/remote starts are my favorite thing to install, we solder everything and your mustang is fun to do becuase most of the connections are in the passengar kick panel at the "smart junction box" on 05 and up mustangs, and I like to hind the alarm above the radio. There is tons of room behind there.

Clifford nice, viper too. I mean there the same company (DEI). Depending on what you want keyless/alarm or keyless/alarm/remote start. Viper and clifford are going to have pretty much the same stuff.

I would recommend with the alarm system adding the battery backup, piezo siren, and maybe the motion sensor(Motion sensors take alot of time to get them right, tuning wise). Motion sensor is great if you have a vert and like to leave the top down alot.

I just had this same question, but with a little twist.

I have a stock 01 GT. It has a Ford key fob that honks the horn and locks/unlocks the doors and pops the trunk.

the other day the car made some weird electronic sound, I popped the hood saw a hidden siren, then pulled the panel below the steering wheel and saw a "Ford Racing" box that looks and is tapped (with scotch locks) just like an alarm.

Anyways, does the fob belong to the car, or the Ford Racing thing? I'm interested in stripping the old stuff out and putting in a Viper/Clifford/etc
