Portable GPS Mounts-Garmin
I am getting a Garmin Nuvi 270 and wanted to use it in my Mustang. I saw a mount by Permavise that is mounted under the center dash faceplate and looks good. Anyone have this or another GPS mount other than the usual window suction cup? Just trying to get some ideas since I want it to look professional without damaging the dash.
I have used a mount that clips into the air vents, this did not work because the weight of the GPS caused the vent to swing back and forth as I drove. I went through (4) suction cup mounts that Garmin kept sending me and not ONE of them would stay on the windshield. Most of the time the GPS would come tumbling down on me as I was driving. The last one I purchased, and hopefully the last, is one of those heavy bean bag mounts that I picked up from Amazon for $25. Not sure if it works because when I went to try it I found out that my GPS was stolen from my glove compartment...
I have a Magellan GPS with the black disk that can mount pretty much anywhere. I have the disc between the vents above the radio and mount it there. It rarely falls off and if it does it is when I'm not driving. I did it so it doesn't obstruct my view of the road.
