was there an inline fuse somewhere on the wire you connected to your fuse box or is it not important

Yes!. Inline fuse must be close to the terminal. as to prevent a fire.

yeah i bought this stupid kit at car toys made to plug into your cigarette lighter but i dont want to connect it to my battery and it has both positive and negative wires which is really annoying so i dunno what to do with it now

and on 99-04's there's no flat spot to mount it on the drivers side

there are two wires on it, and two wires on your battery. If you are unsure of what to do then I would recomend taking them to a car audio shop and they will be happy to hook them up for you.

I would recomend getting a switch installed as well as there will be a time that you will want them off.
