12" type r is one of the best budget subs you can get. just get a amp to feed it the appropriate power.

i have two type r powered by an alpine mrp-m1000, so powering 1 sub u could go with an alpine mrp-m500 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ALPINE-MRP-M500-C...1%7C240%3A1318 u might be able to find this amp cheaper, this is the guy i bought all my speakers and amps from and everything was A++

You aren't going to be able to set up with subs and component speakers for under 200 bucks.

Pioneers for the highs and mids would be my best thought. Fairly low on price with the potential for alot of sound. FOr sub, I would say get over trying to keep it cheap and go after one 12'' Kicker L7 or a kicker CVX and get a good amp. The one 12'' will be more than enough, especially in the right box. how loud do you really want to be. How much bass do you want?
