New to this site. I need system help.
Hello all
,
I just made this account, its accually for my buddy and ill be giving it to him tonight. im not stranger to fords, i got my self a big a$$ f150. but any who. my buddy asked me to look at his car this weekend and try to fix his system.
so my question is, his factory amp is messed up. every time he shuts the car off he needs to pull the fuse for the factory amp, or the car wil die. where is the factory amp on a 1996 stang? and how do you bypass it?
another question, right now, only sound is comming out of the left side speakers nothing out the right. think this is the amp as well?
anyone know anything it will come in very handy, or ill be trying to figure stuff out like a blind bat on saturday.
thank you, steve!

no it is not the stock headunit. its been replaced with a panisonic(SP). thats all that has been replaced. there is a fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay he needs to pull everytime he turns off the car, or it will die. 3rd from the left, 25 amp fuse. when the fuse is pulled they headunit will turn on but no speakers.
someone ran the wrong wire to the amps. just make sure you have them conected to a the remote turn on. and if they are then ur remote turn on is sending out a constant 12volts so just get yourself a relay switch(toggle) and hook it up. that way all he does is flip a switch when he wants it off or on and it give him that cool affect
ha ha ha, i understand what your saying, but im talking about the in car speakers, not subs. im installing his amp and subs this weekend. i have done many systems in my day and im possitive ill get that working. but once the music is on, no amp for the subs. music only come out the drivers side front and rear speaker, nothing out the passenger side. im trying to figure it out before i jump into it this weekend. im doing alot for him
hookin up his amp and subs
two neons under the dash by the drivers side and pass side feet area
painting the interior peices
and trying to figure out this darn interior speaker problem AGHHH

I gotta see pics of this, but I am willing to bet that you do not have a factory ford panasonic cd player.............
First starts simple on the speaker problem and check the balance on the deck. If he is not big on stereos and doesn't understand them I would not be suprised if he has adjusted the balance all the way to the passenger side accidentally, I fix more customers cars then I care to this way.
As for the amps dying I agee with the above that it sounds as though they have the amps remote turn on wire wired to a constant. This could make a 3-5 amp current draw that could kill a batter overnight. Check to make sure that the blue/white wire on the factory side of the hrns is hooked up to the blue/white remote turn on from the deck. This will probably result in the speakers making a popping noise when the radio is turned on and off. There is a diagram in the sticky on the top of the forum that shows how to stop the popping noise.
i already cheaked the balance on the deck. it is adjusted to the middle. not the drivers side. if i turn the balance all the way to the pass side and then turn the volume up to max, music comes out the pass side, very quitely, and only the front speaker.
