Default RE Audio?

So i think i have finally found the light you guys tried to shiune on me a while ago. I have since gone through two more 10" L5's since re-doing my set-up and now im contemplating some RE Audio. I was wondering what you guys had to say about the MX 12. It is the perfect size for my box and im looking at two of them. im gonna put both on 2 kicker 1000.0 at 2ohms each. (one per sub) It will be a 2.0 cu ft box tuned to 30ish HZ. What do you all think of RE audio? SQ? SPL? what else do you reccommend for a box around 2-2.2 Cu ft?

Im actually trying for SQL, but with a little lean towards loudness. the SQ sucked in my last speakers and i got quickly tired of having to listen to it at loud levels untill the loudness drowned out the crappy sound quality. and thats probably what got me two blown speakers. haha. so im looking for speakers in the 2.0 cu ft range ported to replace my crap that i have now. Im considering RE Audio MX which i like the looks of best, ED 13Av.2. Im just wondering what you all think of these two speakers as far as SQL. I think im looking at atleast 12's because 1) I would like to use my current box as its well built and tuned to my liking 2)because i need something that will cover the holes of my square 10's. I'd really like to stay 12-13 inches because im pretty sure ported 15's will be too floppy for my tastes.

i'd like to keep them wired to 2 ohms so either 2 ohm svc or 4 ohm dvc if anyone has any other suggestion(s). and about 1000-1500 watts rms. thanks.

The 13A is a totally different breed. You better have a fantastic front stage to run it, because most front stages won't keep up. If you run it sealed especially. Sealed don't expect much above 45 Hz, ported don't expect much above 65 Hz. Ported the 13A is awesome for SQL. in 2.2 cubes tuned to 28Hz I was somewhere around 135 db.

I haven't messed with RE but have read that they aren't quite what they used to be but are still quite the reliable piece of equipment. I would go for the 13A not out of bias, but out of it fitting exactly what you said. SQL. That's exactly its purpose.

Due to weight I sold mine and the box I built for it and am switching to two DD 1508's. Definitely SPL oriented unless i went sealed which isn't an option since I have a convertible and need all the output I can get.

Keep in mind the 13A is massive in terms of physical size.

what do you consider fantastic? im running polk db 6.5 components off of a bridged kicker 350.4 so they should be seeing a bit of power still at 4 ohms. i dont get what you mean about the 13a being of a different breed. im definitely staying ported. i want something that will pound at high levels and still be musical at low and mid levels. does the 13a fit the bill? thanks for the help guys. you've all helped me out alot and i appreciate y'all being patient with me.

You need to hear it to understand....Where do you live?

It will hit 135 all day (as long as your box is proper) but it's going to do it at a much lower frequency than most subwoofers.....

There's one for sale here at a nice price....only bad thing is that it is a DVC 4 and not DVC 2....

thats fine if theyre 4ohm dvc. i would actually prefer that because i dont think i can strap my amps so ill just run one per amp at 2 ohms and then gain match.

im up in ohio so i guess i can just take your word for it. i basically can't do any worse than what i'm at now. I know some people love their kicker's but ive busted two cones burnt one VC and another speaker that literally just stopped working and i have no idea what happened. so im done with kicker subs.

anyways. Im basically just looking for a good sq sub with some bump to it. so i guess i'll go with the ED. I really don't feel like shelling out over a thousand dollars for subs unless i have to. ya know?
