Default factory to aftermarket sub help

jus ripped off all the panels surrounding 01 navigator sub. the speaker wires connected were those normal ones that just slide off the clips. but the aftermarket (rockford p1) sub doesnt have the same type of thing to connect the speaker wires. do i need to buy new wires? can i jus snip the metal part off and feed the wire through? the manual tells me nothing about how to connect the factory wires to this new sub.

yes you can do that. it will be just fine. make sure to take the plastic cover for the magnet of the p1 off. and you may have to trim the back of the factory encloser, where the bolt for the factory sub was. just trim it down till the new one fits, then use some abs plastic or something close to fill in the hole. glue that down and make sure you seal it up good. hope this helps ya

if it fit then don't worry about it. i just suggested it to help make a little more room.

you will not be happy replacing the stock subs unless you add an amp to power them. The factory sub amp does not like to push aftermarket equipment.
