You have the yellow and red wire mixed up or both wired to the same switched circuit. Yellow is Acc (Switched) and red is full time Powa! (Fused full time power)

I noticed i have a wire which is marked as "ant cont" that is not wired to any other wires so would this be the problem to my settings not being saved?..

that is to power the power antenna, which you do not have. It has nothing to do with your memory settings but you will need to insulate it to make sure it does not ground out.

There are three power wires needed for the radio.

Yellow +12v constant. This wire will have +12v on it all the time no matter what position the key is in.
Red +12v switched. This wire has +12v on it when the key is on, and show as a ground when the key is off. It has nothing to do with the chassis.
Ground - this goes to the chassis and has a ground on it at all time.

I agree with him that you either have you yellow and red wired to a +12v switched wire, or you have these two wires backwards
