Default 2000W amp for $100?

Has anyone ever heard of Bass Inferno? They make an amplifier that claims to make 2000W at 2Ohms and it sells for around $100. Is it worth checking out?

Also, are Hifonics amps any good?

Thanks!

Never heard of Bass Inferno. I would see people over on some Ranger forums talking about Hifonics all the time. And they weren't saying bad stuff.

well heres my input on this, first amps that arent rated amps are usually not getting the watts they claim to get, also they claim that it is at 2ohm, all amps that are actually rated amps (your name brand amps like kicker, alpine, jbl, memphis, etc) are all rated at 4ohm. also keep in mind that the general rule for buying amps is $1 per watt... there are some cases where it is a little off from that but in most cases when you start looking up actual rated amps it is pretty close to that. look up some of the amp rating sites that have actually rated the amps and see what i am saying a little better, i know that soundoff.org has one on their site that you can download, and the best example i can remember is that sony xplod amps state they can get 1000w.... keep in mind these are the same ones that are sold at walmart..... well they get around 400w if i remember correctly which is no where near what they say it gets. so make sure that when shopping for amps that you are looking at amps that have been rated at 4ohm. here is an excellant video i just found that explains it alot better than me rambling on about it lol, im sorry if my explaination was confusing or boring but this explains it in simple terms

Default Quantum Audio

I'm an electrical engineer, so I find it hard to believe that these amps selling for around $200 could actually put out in excess of 1000watts.

Anyone ever heard of a Quantum amp? They are claiming 2000W at 2Ohm... for $250.

I will most likely be powering 2 Pioneer Premier TS-W3002D2 subs. They'll be 4Ohm each, paralleled to the Amp for a 2Ohm load.

They are rated at 1000W RMS each.

I could probably do ok with just a 1000W RMS amp, but I'd like to give them 2000W if I can find an amp that actually produces that at a reasonable price. I don't have $2000 to go buy 2 JL 1000/1s.

I had an MTX 81000D that put out 1000W RMS and I was pleased with it. Do you all know of any amps that produce an insane amount of power at a decent price?

Whats a decent price? $100-$300.... Not really your going to have to spend some money for that type of power. Unless you find a great deal on ebay.... that is not a off the wall brand amp like the bass inferno.

If you like Hifonics check this one out...

So what happen to the MTX amp, if you liked that?

yeah man the kicker amps i run are like $1100 amps and they are the 1200.1 amps, for true power it is going to cost some money for anything around 2000 watts, and also look at the new kicker warhorse 10,000 watt amp, they are saying msrp is goign to be $9,999 which would be the $1 a watt concept again, but i have seen a couple on ebay around $6,000 and $7,000

Default MTX

The MTX 81000D is still in my other car pushing two Premier 12" TS-W3002SPL http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ro/TS-W3002SPL

I think I'm going to get another MTX because this one has lasted me 5+ years.
