Default JL Audio VS Pioneer Premier

Which sub would you think is better:

Pioneer Premier TS-3002 12" 1000w RMS
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...S-W3002D2%7CD4

JL Audio 12W3v3 500w RMS
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=25

I've always been told that JL is top-of-the line, and these are priced the same, but the Premier handles more power and is alot more robust.

Thanks!

They both are overpriced, underqualified and overhyped.

You can do 10 times better with a dozen other brands.

JL or Pioneer = FAIL

Yeah JL is overrated regardless, but Pioneer Premier is up there only I would think because its pretty much high-power and besides Pioneer Premier mostly has a 2-year warranty on all of their products. If you wait til the end of the year the price will more than likely drop on Pioneer's end JL's price just stays the same no matter how old it is... besides all that more power more money except on JL's end. You'd think that 1000 wrms is bit much.

So what subs would you recommend? I want to give about 1000w RMS to a pair of 12s.

rockford fosgate punch stage 3 subs are really nice for the price. u can get a pair of 12s on ebay shipped for $200. they only need .85 cu.ft. and the can handle 500w each.

ok, are you wanting this setup for overall sound quality, or sound pressure level (spl)??? in terms of sound quality with your given choices i would go jl. but im not a fan of either, i have run kicker subs and amps for a couple years now and done well in spl and they dont sound bad either, but alot of people use kicker.

im not a big fan of rockford, pioneer, jl, jbl, sony, and im sure there a couple more but those companies just arent so great, but in retrospec its all in your box setup, u could have the worst sub ever made in the right box and it would sound amazing, as well as the best sub in the worst box will sound horrible, also your box also has a play in power handling, you build your box wrong and your subs wont be able to handle the power even if they say they can because they dont have the airspace.

but i like kicker, t3 audio, digital designs, memphis audio, arc audio, all have good products you may want to check out.

i am a competitor and judge if u need any help or advice with it, also own a car audio shop

I've always put pioneer speakers and JL subs and amps in my car. I haven't heard a better sounding stero system for the price yet and I have NEVER had issues with my speakers... then again I don't drive around with my music up so loud that everyone can hear it.
