what kind of 10's and what kind of amp do you have? how are the subs wired? sounds like you have the subs wired to an ohm load lower than the amp can handle.

with out knowing EXACTLY what you have(model numbers or impedence and voice coil config) and how it is wired we will have a hard time helping you.

The first thing you need to find out is if the amp is shutting off completly when this happens or is it going into protection mode. Does the power light stay on?

if the light is going off then I would start checking connections. Jiggle and pull the wires to see if the light goes on and off. Try tapping on the amp or the box and see if anything happens.

Follows Scott's advise.

A loose connection will get you every time, but that generally is hard to link up with a hot amp. (Unless your ground in very poor and you are pulling a ton of current to make up for the poor voltage)

If you have 2 4 ohm subs wired in parrallel to a 4 ohm bridgable amp, you are killing your amp...
