Some simple sub question...
I bought a decent subwoofer acouple years ago but never got around to installing it in my car. It has been sitting in it's box in my room, but now I kinda want to hook it up. Currently Im running highs and mids component speakers in my car powerd via additional amp, and an ok headunit, but it still offers alot more bass than the stock setup.
So, the sub I have is a Phoenix Gold Xenon 12" D4. Nothing too impressive, but it looks good quality build and my speakers and amp are Phoenix Gold aswell. First off, what amp would you recommend me using? I guess I'll just need a single channel amp, and I don't want it to be too expensive? The subs RMS is 500w. I wish I could get the same model amp I have now, but more powerful, so it would match, but it is outdated now...
Also, the pamphlet with the sub recommends a 1ft^3 for SPL and 3ft^3 for musical, in a sealed box. I'm not too serious about extreme thumpin, so I don't think I want SPL, but as you know in the SN95s, space is very limited and I can't do 3ft^3 too well. Do you think something in the middle would be a good compensation, good thump but still quality as well? I don't know how hard it will hit, so I don't want to make something too large and then not be want I was hoping for..
And, something simple, wiring. Should I just grab something for walmart...?
Thanks

i don't normally redirect people but you seem like a phoenix fan? I would check out the pheonixphorum for advice on their product. I am a member there as well and would also recomend an amp from then to drive your sub.
